Hi, This is what the error message is that you are getting. > lester@merlin >finderr 11041 > -11041 Data source name not found and no default driver specified. > The data source name specified in the connection request is not found > in the ODBC.INI file or registry, and there is no default driver > specification. Confirm that the data source name is registered. You can > also provide a default data source. You have to configure the odbc.ini file for it to work. These are athe parts our of mine for the stores database. The first line tells it the data source name, the Driver must point to the informix cli driver, Database to the database name, HostName to the machine name. ---------------------------------------------------- stores7=Informix 7.x ODBC Driver [stores7] Driver=/u1/informix730/cli/dlls/IXinf708.so Description=Informix 7.x ODBC Driver Database=stores7 HostName=merlin LogonID= Password= ---------------------------------------------------- You will also need to check the file .odbcinst.ini. This is what mine looks like. ---------------------------------------------------- [ODBC Drivers] INFORMIX 7=Installed [INFORMIX 7] Driver=/u1/informix730/cli/dlls/IXinf708.so Setup=/u1/informix730/cli/dlls/IXinf708.so APILevel=1 ConnectFunctions=YYY DriverODBCVer=02.11 FileUsage=0 SQLLevel=1 smProcessPerConnect=Y ---------------------------------------------------- Also, You must be using a network connection to the database and have that working first. That is your INFORMIXSERVER must be pointing to an entry in the sqlhosts file that uses tlitcp or scotcp depending on your hardware.
