I remember doing something like this a couple of years ago, however, beware
the discrepancies between Informix and Oracle (e.g., Oracle has no serial
datatype, subtle differences in some other data types, etc.)
You will not be able to migrate any stored procedures, they will have to be
re-written. Apart from that, I think you will find migrating *to* Oracle
fairly simple -- they do encourage this. Getting away from Oracle is a whole
other ballgame. ;-)
Once you've migrated, be aware that Oracle tuning and performance patterns
differ almost diametrically from Informix... Hence, all the standard
disclaimers about doing this for the right reasons apply. :-)
