For anybody interested (or searching for an answer in the group archive), the environment variable DBSRC allows you to specify additional code source locations (similar to CLASSPATH in Java) when this variable is set to, the debugger doesn't core dump as it does when stepping into a function after issuing the USE command within the debugger or in a .4db file as to why ....
