Hello, We are planning to upgrade from a very old Sun Enterprise box (1998) running SunOS 5.6 and IDS 9.30UC. IDS is hosting ocean data (aprox 50GB), floating-point arithmetic computations are not done, queries are controlled by the application used to serve data. The new machine will run IDS 11 on Solaris 10. Because of money constrains, we are considering a SunFile1200 Server (UntraSPARC T1, 1Ghz, RAM 8 GB, Solaris 10). Any input regarding the performance of this machine will be appreciated? Thanks!
