reference type in informix 9.12

hello. Can I use ref type that used in illustra in informix 9.12? I heard that ref type is similar pointer in C. I can create table with ref type like following. create row type address_t ( area char(3), num char (7) ); create table abc (col1 int primary key, col2 ref(address_t)); But, I have no idea to insert. Is it possible in informix 9.12? And I want to know all about ref type supported by informix. help me.
