New Era and Bar Code Class Libraries?

I'm currently evaluating New Era for our new Windows Front end to our Informix 7.1 Engine. I need to convert our 4gl based Inventory Control Systerm to use bar codes and I'm thinking that I might convert the whole system to New Era (well, if 2.0 really deleivers on what is promised.). Does anyone know of and/or have experience with any New Era bar code class libraries? What bar code hardware does it require? Any good/bad experiences? Any help would be appreciated Thanks Greg
