RE: Logical Logs Size
Posted in 2003
Fred 30 Gb seems rather large for total log space (in fact almost 19 Gb seems large). What is the size of your database? How quickly are you using the logs? What are your Long transaction limits set to? How often do you hit this long transaction? Can you (should you) split theses transactions into smaller success units? Is a transaction being started and held open but nothing done causing the roll-back? As a start point I would set each log to handle the work done in 50 - 60 minutes of average engine activity and to have enough logs to hold 24 hours of activity.
