Try onstat -g mem, and check for unusually high memory usage. Also based on
what you described, the problem could be caused by setting the dynamically
allocated segment size (SHMVERTADD???) too small. It could be that you have a
memory request for a buffer that can not fit in the size of the dynamic segment
and this causes several segments to be allocated back to back. In older
versions, there was a problem with archives (ontape) that tended to cause
this.
