Do I have to create Multiple sqlexecd Daemons for multiple : database-server on a single UNIX box? Or there are other ways? Yes! Each server must have its own servername as well as its own service name in /etc/services. When you startup the sqlexecd daemon, you give it its service name as command line argument. : b). On the UNIX client, using I-Net or I-Star, how can I specify : different "servicename" on the Server without changing port number in : /etc/services file on the client? Look in the I-NET manual for the description of the file $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts. This file maps machines, DB-servers and services so you can access different servers residing on the same machine by just specifying the correct DBPATH.
