It's ok, the install program is stupid, it's designed to be as simple
as possible.
- You must define the first chunk for the root dbspace on install.
- If you wish to enable Informix mirroring you must define a mirror
path for the chunk above.
- It refuses to install in /tmp or /var/tmp (ok) or /usr!! That was a
bug.
- If you install it then find a bug in 4GL of course you have to
resinstall it. So you get
- A new onconfig!
- oninit -i is done so you can lose all your data!
- Duplicate entries in /etc/services
- Same in sqlhosts (or was it a new one, can't remember).
Design for the Windows point and drool brigade!!
