There is no documented way to access the global variables, or local variables come to that. Obviously, the p-code interpreters do it so it can be done, but there has never been any intention of allowing such access. There is no conveniently packaged routine which provides access to a variable given the name of the variable; all internal access is done indirectly through offsets into tables.
