Here's my take, poor spelling and all... When I was with the IIUG it seemed like I was more exposed to a lot of good information about the two products. Now that I'm on the *outside*, I hear and see very little. So now I feel everyone's frustration. I don't care if either product has great marketing, I and my management team, would like to be more informed about the direction and status of both. We've had other issues with PeopleSoft and IBM has done a descent job of building a relationship there. It's been 3 years and things like the migration tool kit is just now beta??? So even if I like DB2 they don't give me an easy when to migrate to it???? I say continue this and other threads and get the IIUG involved... Mr Litel seems to be getting what he wants out of IBM... -----Original Message----- From: Obnoxio The Clown [mailto:obnoxio@hotmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 04, 2004 8:30 AM To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: RE: IDS to DB2 conversion malcolm weallans wrote: > So guys, I suggest you stop this ware of words through this mailing > list, take your discussions offline, and come back to us when you can > both agree to differ. OK, quick straw poll -- who here thinks this ware (sic) of words is irrelevant and uninteresting? Who here is uninterested in poking what information they can out of IBM on what might be happening and how IDS relates to DB2? -- "C'est pas parce qu'on n'a rien ' dire qu'il faut fermer sa gueule" - Coluche sending to informix-list

OK, but regarding more important matters, should we kill this thread or not? :o) > -----Original Message----- > From: Obnoxio The Clown [mailto:obnoxio@hotmail.com] > > malcolm weallans wrote: > >> So guys, I suggest you stop this ware of words through this mailing >> list, take your discussions offline, and come back to us when you can >> both agree to differ. > > OK, quick straw poll -- who here thinks this ware (sic) of words is > irrelevant and uninteresting?
