In the IIUG software archive, there is a file called "rpt_blob.Z" that claims to include a method of doing just that. It was contributed by Marco Greco. I haven't yet verified that it actually works, but I'll try it as soon as I find the time. Maybe that is what Juan Manuel... is looking for.
