Re: Informix clients

Art, If I understand it correctly I must have beside my 7.10 installation also the 7.23.UC6 installed on my server to let the patched version work on a 7.10 server.? The application is written with Informix 7.10 but I want that the patch version will be be compiled with Informix 7.23.UC6. The user of the that patch version will upgrade to 7.23.UC6 so I want to use what's new in the 7.23.UC6 version but old customers, still using 7.10 should be able to use the patched version on the 7.10 version without any modification. The part of the application that connects to the DBMS run on the same Unix server as the Informix server. I have good experience with Informix, where it goes to run an old application on a newer server say running a 7.1x application on a 7.2x server. However I would like to ask you if I can expect problems running a 7.10 application on a 7.23.UC6 server. Of course new features aren't effective then. Regards, Albert Wisse Art S.
