We tried something similar to this. We set the TAPESIZE in the onconfig
file to be a very large number and then used a named pipe as the
TAPEDEV. The software from the tape library we had read the data from
the pipe and wrote it to the tapes. It was then responsible for
switching tapes. Since the pipe never reaches the TAPESIZE we
specified, Informix wouldn't ask for more tapes. I'm not sure how your
jukebox would handle it.
