Reason was: Detail table contained data but no rows. Sounds weird, eh? Happens when you set the table into data state, insert NO row (or use clearSet), and then insert data into it. The fields will accept that (if their data-state is readWriteState) but they act a bit weird ;> If you didnt do until now: Check the state and the number of rows in the superTable when the problem occurs. Another reason could be that you only think you are in displayData... but then at least the events like beforeQueryChange, afterQueryChanged, etc should be posted. _MAYBE_ thats it.
