Greetings, I am trying to install IDS 11 Developer Edition on my developer box. I am running 32-bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, with PHP 5.2.5. Upon loading the installer with the following command: './installserver -console -log /usr/informix/ids_install_log' It runs until it reaches the 'Checking Prerequisites' part, at which point I receive the error: "One or more of the prerequsite system libraries is not installed on your computer. Install libdl.so.2, libcrypt.so.1, libpam.so.0, libstdc++.so.6, libm.so.6, libgcc_s.so.1, libc.so.6, ld-linux-x86-64.so.2, libncurses.so.5 and then restart the IBM Informix installation program." I ran global searches on those libraries and all of them are on my system except 'ld-linux-x86-64.so.2'. Does anyone know what ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 is and where/how I can get it on my system? I greatly appreciate any help that you can provide. Thanks, Peter
There is a known issue on AIX 6.1 regarding to prereq check. For people testing released products that don't have the fix, as a workaround, you may use the -disable-checks commandline switch to skip the prereq check. For AIX users that will resort to -disable-checks commandline switch, they have to read their machine notes to ensure that their system has all listed prerequisites to use IDS before using the commandline switch. I am not sure whether it is related to the issue you encountered on linux though.

Maybe you downloaded the x86_64 version of IDS. Take a look in file=20 $INFORMIXDIR/Platform.prq . For 32bit it should contain: @os.name=3DLinux @os.version=3D2.6.9 /lib/tls/libpthread.so.0 /lib/libdl.so.2 /lib/libcrypt.so.1 /lib/libpam.so.0 /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 /lib/tls/libm.so.6 /lib/tls/libc.so.6 /usr/lib/libncurses.so.5 Andreas > > I ran global searches on those libraries and all of them are on my > system except 'ld-linux-x86-64.so.2'.
