change windows domain name; IDS ?
Hello, i am using IDS 11.70 on Windows 2003 Server (installed in domain). Our customer is going to change the windows domain name. So what to do with the Informix-Server ? Do i have to reinstall in the "new" domain or are there only a few things to change (like in registry; user-account for starting services;..) Thank you for any hints. Erik
The only real issue should be the Informix userid on the domain. That = said, Windows is a wonderful place where secret and magical things = happen in the domain realm. I will be interested to hear your results. (I spent a good 4 hours trying to figure out why IDS wouldn't init on a = domain machine the other day, the upshot was the customer opted to = re-image the machine off of the domain). j. See section 1.2.2 of the Administering IDS on Windows white paper (look here: http://www-01.ibm.com/software/data/informix/library.html ) "Domain" under Security\\\\IXDSA Group is the only registry value you'd need to change, and that only if it has the Domain name there and not the machine name (i.e. it was a domain install rather than a local install).
