Need info on running Informix on Dell O/S

I called Informix to see if they had a Dell port for 4GL & SQL; they didn't. They did say however that they had a V 4 port for Compaq, Interactive, and AT&T. My question is, what differences could there be in the different ports and shouldn't I be able to run any of the V 4 Informix ports on the Dell port of the O/S? I asked these questions of my Informix sales rep who replied he'ld check into it but I'd like to get an answer before the year 2010 rolls around.
