Help on compiling ESQL on unix

Sorry to repost the article the previous one looked messed up. Thanx ------------------------------------ hi netters, I am relatively new to this software. I am having problems in compiling embedded sql statements in c. I am reading the book by R.S.Tare and the command to compile was given esql prog1.ec. We have informix installed on Att 6386 running unix V. It always compiles that esql as command not found. At the same time I could invode isql. By the way we have both version 2.10 and 4.00. I am wondering how to compile the programs. Anyehelp would be greatly appreciated. By the way I looked into /usr/informix/bin for the executable for esql and I could not find one. Am I doing anything wrong or using a wrong command to compile. I do not read this newsgroup quite often , I would appreciate if you can mail me the reply. Thanx in anticipation.
