Cannot start Informix SE engine on IBM AIX 4.3.x - URGENT

I changed the machine IP address as part of our company's change in IP subnetting. After the chane, I was able to login the machine. however, I can't access Informix SE databases anymore. Please tell me where to go look for error messages and to restart the database engine. Thanks a million PN
