Is there the equivalent of Oracle's materialized view available in Informix 11.5 ? We are migrating data that will require an initial bulk load from Informix to Oracle, and then delta loads. We were going to use HP Loader to unload files and then have an ETL process ( ODI ) to clean the data, massage it and bring it into Oracle. However there are numerous issues, things like the backslashes in unload files on varchar character types, date field differences and such that make our developers want to go directly against the informix tables for the loads ( table to table - informix to Oracle ) instead of using the intermediate step of unload files. The performance could suck on that. Materialzied views would be a possible solution. So I'm checking. Thanks, floyd
