Hi We are using both SQL Server and Informix ON-Line and both systems works fine. SQL Server is more "user friendly" and easier to operate for the dba. There are no significant difference in performance between these systems. The main reason to choose SQLServer is that it makes life much easier when it comes to installing ODBC drivers on the clients. Informix software (CLI and I-NET) is a mess and only lets you specify ONE set of parameters on each client. This means that you can only connect to one database on each client (if you don't manually change your parameters between sessions). With SQLServer you only need to set up one datasource for each database in the odbc - administrator, and that's it. Cheers Per L
