Also have you tried OPT_GOAL=0 which can be set in the application's environment or the ONCONFIG file and will set the default optimization goal as in SET OPTIMIZATION FIRST_ROWS which will strongly tend to favor indexed reads to table scans. Try adding an index that matches any ORDER BY clauses in the query if they do not exist also. Art S. Kagel
