How do I create and use a DBSpace other than the default?

I have just begun working with informix databases recently in conjuction with Netscape's Livewire server. I have had no problem creating new databases and SQL queries that work upon those databases, but I have recently been informed that all of my databases are in the default dbspace, which they shouldn't be. I am using HP-UX 10.10 and I am wondering if anyone might be able to help me to setup and use a new DBSpace. lsbcoop2@hq.marh.gov.bc.ca
