I-Net, a.k.a. I-Connect, a.k.a. SetNet) and the Informix ODBC driver. CLI is generally bundled with the db server software these days. Make sure you install to C:\\INFORMIX. Installing to C:\\Program Files\\INFORMIX does strange things with your INFORMIXDIR environment variable. Edit your \\WINNT\\SYSTEM32\\DRIVERS\\ETC\\SERVICES file and add the line "onexec 1525/tcp". If you do not have a DNS server running, edit your \\WINNT\\SYSTEM32\\DRIVERS\\ETC\\HOSTS file and add a line for the IP host you Informix server is running on. Run SetNet32 to configure your database server connections. Run ODBC32 from Win NT control panel, and add either a User or a System DSN to connect to the server you setup in SetNet32. If your ODBC panel doesn't have the tabs across the top, you might want to reinstall NT service pack 3 so you get the latest in ODBC setup technology. Fire up MS Access, create a new database, do File -> Get External Data -> Link Tables. Change "Files of type" to ODBC, and up pops your list of DSN's from your ODBC configuration. BTW, you might want to do yourself a favor and skip MS Access in favor of Crystal Reports 6.0. No ODBC required to connect to Informix and it is generally better behaved. Happy connecting!
