Re: Informix Export

When you perform dbexport, you will see the data with pipe ("|")
delimiter. For example:
Table with col1, col2, and col3 columns.
dbexport of table will be looks like:
THIS IS FIRST|120.11|1000|
THIS IS SECOND|10293.032|2439|
THIS IS THIRD|29.00|9049|
If you are loading into different database, you need to check with
your database delimiter. If your database's delimiter is comma (",")
you need to replace pipe with it. When you replace delimiter, check
if your database needs Also, check if string needs to be in quote or
not.
I hope this helps

Hello,
We're not using Informix, but we're dealing with a company that is.
They can send us a copy of their Informix database by doing a database
"export".
My question: What does/will this export look like? Is it an SQL script
that can be loaded into another SQL DBMS?
Thanks,
Russ Wakelin
