DOES OPENLINK WORK WITH INFORMIX-NEWERA? Has anyone seen this problem or have a solution to it :- We are using Newera to access both Sybase and Informix databases. When we try to retrieve data from a sybase table the query fails with the following error - -50935, "[Informix][Connectivity Class Library]Error occurred converting from ODBC timestamp data type to Informix date time data type ( ixDateTime )". This error is due to a Sybase smalldatetime field being included in the SELECT statement. The problem is related to way Openlink formats the timestamp data selected from the table. A timestamp is of the format "yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss.fffff" where f is the fractional part. The openlink driver returns "yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss" only. It omits the fractional part from the returned data. Newera expects the data to be the ODBC standard for a timestamp ie. including the fractional part. This problem has occurred twice before - with the openlink Informix MT server and with the Sybase Lite driver. The problem was resolved with the Informix driver by upgrading the server software. The Sybase Lite problem was never resolved. Other ODBC drivers either do not have this problem or allow a workaround using explicit type conversion with the ODBC scalar conversion function 'fn_convert' Environment Server : Sybase System 11 on HP-UX 10.10 Request broker 2.6B (release 1.5) 23/4/97 Agent 1.09B (release 1.5) 25/9/97 Client : WFW 3.11, Informix-Newera 2.20 oplodbc, oplwsock, oplmem DLL's all 1.5.0110, 10/1/97 Thanks in advance for any help.
