logon to informix from visual basic

Hi all, When logging to the INFORMIX database from Visual Basic app, it takes about 5 minutes to establish the connection. It's ** awfuly ** slow. When testing the connection using Informix's ILogin, the connection is faster. Is there any way to speed up the connection ? Please send details solution. We use the following software: Visual Basic ver 3.0 FTP PC TCP/IP Informix-On-Line ver 7.10 Intersolv Data Direct MultiLink/VB Informix-Net 5.x Regards.
