Well I received an email response from an Informix person that appears to indicate that a threaded process can only have serial access to the actual DB engine. No concurrent SQL processing is possible. The value of threads in an application appear to be restricted to the availability of a dynamic number of cursors and structures, rather than a fixed number of global cursors and structures. -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Philip Walden Hewlett Packard Product Generation Information Systems 1501 Page Mill Road, M/S 4U-6 Palo Alto, CA 94304 (415) 857-3899 FAX (415) 857-8234 http://www.pgis.hp.com/~pwalden mailto:phil_walden@hp.com --------------------------------------------------------------------------
