Hi Thomas, The thing is that our lotus notes team moves their code from windows to linux. The existing lotus script application relies on odbcmanager and worked well on windows. The developers are saying that they need to rewrite big portion of code to make direct connection to Informix, and they do not have time and desire to do that. I am not an expert in lotus notes, and can't say if it's a big deal to do what you can easily do in C :-) Thanks for your response, anyway. -- Boris Thomas Rask wrote: > Hi Boris > > One rather rough solution would be to simply link the db client > application directly with the Informix driver instead of unixODBC. > > This is possible in most cases since they share the same set of > functions according to the ODBC standard. > > But it may be hard if the application is rebuild to link with > unixODBC... > > I wanted to connect to Informix 9.3 on my Linux (both client and > server running on Linux) and use the same ODBC calls as in the Windows > environment. Boris It sounds to like all you need is an ODBC driver Manager and an ODBC driver. You simply then get your application to use a datasource to connect to your database. I don't really believe it will be a big problem unless there's something else I'm missing here Emmon Boris Niyazov <niyazov@solni.law.columbia.edu> wrote in message news:<3ECCFD7B.15411758@solni.law.columbia.edu>... > Hi Thomas, > > The thing is that our lotus notes team moves their code from windows to > linux.
