Smart Blob - Dumb JDBC Exception Handling

Hi There, We recently had a JDBC client app happily go on processing data after a failure to add data to a full blob space. The code is set up to catch all exceptions and appears to work well for all other errors. I had a good look around at smart blob examples with JDBC and smart blobs and they do not seem to do anything different for these datatypes. IDS is 9.3 on solaris8. Can anyone throw some light on this? I now have a regular script that will report space issues to me but that is only half the solution. I would like for the IDS to warn me when it can;t perform an Informix operation properly. Regards Chris
