Continuous pages in oncheck -pe output
Posted in 2008

Hi,
From oncheck -pe output I got some lines like:
....
db1:informix.customer 8773 32
db1:informix.customer 8805 8
db1:informix.customer 8813 16
db1:informix.customer 8829 96
....
Should they be merged into one extent as they are continuous?
Thanks,
Gary
Likely they were not created contigously. It may be that the 8805 extent
was created before the 8773 which was before the 8773 extent, etc.

We can only merge extents if they are physically contigeous AND logici=
ally
sequential. I'm guessing that these extents are not logically sequent=
ial.
You could verify that by running oncheck -pt on the table/partition.
