Has anyone had any succcess creating these from : Informix? We are using an ACE report printing to a HP Laserjet with barcode font cartridge for printing barcode labels with Informix data. To switch the printer to barcode font and back, you have to issue a printer control code starting with an "escape" character to the printer. You can do that from ACE (or a 4GL report) with the "ASCII 27" command. So we do: PRINT ASCII 27,"<rest_of_escape_sequence>"; { switch to barcode font } PRINT variable; { print variable as barcode } PRINT ASCII 27,"<rest_of_other_esc_sequ.>" { switch back to normal font } Printing the escape sequences, which of course do not show up on paper, will throw ACE's column count off base, so if you want to use the COLUMN directive, you will probably end up at the wrong position. You will have to fiddle around with this quite a bit if you depend on it.
