Reserved Words

I know I somewhat touched on this subject some time ago, but I want to make sure of something. As I understand correctly, reserved words are basically words we cannot use in the schema of a table and if they are not used as listed, we are okay. For example, the word "password" is a reserved word for IFMX 10.x but you can have a table named old_password and have fields past_password and current_password and all will be right with the world. Am I understanding the term "reserved" correctly? Thanks in advance. Clifton M. Bean Informix DBA / AIX System Admin
You can even have a table or column called password, but you may have to quote
it or qualify it under certain conditions to avoid confusing the parsers. For
example you can have a table named 'table' but to alter it you cannot just:
alter table table add....
You have to:
alter table 'owner'.table add...
-or-
alter table database:table add...
