I am having a problem with the 4GL 4.10 and would like to know if anyone knows
the solution for this. I call the Informix Tech Support and the person tells me
that it is a known bug for this version of 4GL and there is no work-around.
The problem is:
In my screen form, I have a screen record of 5
[A |B |C ]
[A |B |C ]
[A |B |C ]
[A |B |C ]
[A |B |C ] say A is the 1st field-name, B is the 2nd, C the 3rd.
Then in my 4GL problem, I want to do the input statement from line 1,2,3,4, or 5
depending on the userid. For example, when I run the input statement
on the 3rd line, my input statement will be like this:
input rec.* from sc_rec[3].*
after field A
if error_occur() then
next field A <--- program stops here
end if
end input
Then when I run the program, it generates an error message -1119 means that the
next field A is not on the screen form but field A is indeed defined in the
form. The after field statement recognizes the field-name A but the next field
statement does not.
When I change my input statement to
input by name rec.*
...
it works OK.
Then I compile the same problem on our old machine running 4GL 1.10, it does not
give me any error. So it must be 4GL 4.10. Does anyone have this problem w/
their 4GL 4.10? I am running Online 5.01 on SunSparc 670. Thanks in advance.
Tony Chow.
