Severity Levels for Error Codes

Has anybody experience in categorising Informix error codes into a kind of severity levels? We are just looking into a general error handling concept using Informix ESQL/C. After an error returned by the engine we would like to trigger an adequate action (ignore, log error, retry, inform Dba, ...). The categorisation provided by SQLSTATE classes is not sufficient because it seems that all Informix specific errors (Class IX) are not divided into subclasses. Is there perhaps any kind of categorisation provided by using SQLCODE? Any suggestion, idea, comment, ... ? Thanks, Georg georg@cyberdude.com
