Odd sockets errors

Hello
all,
We received many errors this morning - errors which I have never seen
before. The errors are:
07:48:51 (3012493) sockets error - registering a file
07:48:51 listener-thread: err = 0: oserr = 0: errstr = :
The tcp threads looked normal in the onstat -g ath output. Any existing
sessions were working fine but no new tcp connections were being
accepted. Shared memory connections were being accepted. We bounced
the instance and everything was fine. However, the DBA group now owns
the problem ticket and that is a big deal with this company. I will be
opening a case with IBM this morning, but I thought I would run it by
this mail list in the hopes that someone has come across this before.
Here is our environment:
HP-UX 11.0
IDS 9.40.FC6
Any help would be appreciated.

We had a
similar problem when someone "accidentally" deleted all the
/tmp files in our HP-UX11.x system taking out all the FIFOs.
If you were already in, you were golden. If you weren't, you couldn't
get in. We had to manually reboot.
It made for an entertaining day.
Rob
