On a multiprocessor machines with more clients it may be better to run things on the NET class VPS. >If I have certain applications that I would like to prioritize above >others, >apart from using PDQ priorities, would it help if I created a new server >alias >and corresponding new socket in sqlhosts and connect the application to >this. Possibly if you use a different network card for the connection and allocate a NET VP for the dbserveralias. Remember how NETTYPE = <procotol>,<number of pool threads>,<number of expected connections>, <class of VP to run on (NET/CPU)> ? I WOULD FIRST INCREASE THE NUMBER OF POLL THREADS for the NETTYPE which is slow. >Or would a new alias to the same service suffice? > >Please let me have your comments. -- David Williams
