It was called - drumroll - Informix. It even had a program called 'informix' in the distribution. And the function dbselect was part of the ALL-II library: * Informix -- Relational Database Management System * * Title: dbselect.c * Sccsid: @(#)dbselect.c 3.2 1/17/86 20:03:28 * Description: * A.L.L. routines for open/close of Informix files [...] * ***************************************************************** */ #include "aldec.c" /*---------------------------------------------------------------*/ dbselect(flag, name) int flag; char *name; { Since this code handily pre-dates the 1989 C standard, there's no wisdom or virtue in casting brickbats at the coding style; it was the accepted standard notation of the time. -- Jonathan Leffler #include <disclaimer.h> Email: jleffler@earthlink.net, jleffler@us.ibm.com Guardian of DBD::Informix v2003.04 -- http://dbi.perl.org/

MMMM. Imagine that. I knew there was a dos version of Informix (or am i getting senile here?), but a pre-SQL version of Informix. I allways thought Informix was build around SLQ in the first place. Never to old to pick up a new item. And Obnoxio, you Clown, you're even older than I am! And people out age don't *pick* fights, people bring them to us,a nd after that we go and get some liquids (:-))) R.A.
