Solaris 10 IDS 11.50.FC6 i4gl 7.32.FC3 We have been using the Solaris Sun Studio compiler in the SUNWspro package bundle. It has been working just fine. We are working on moving to a new server, and are running into issues. Everything on the new server appears to be the same except the compiler. On the new server the Sun Studio Suite is not installed. We are using the gcc compiler. The same code that we are using on the original server compiles. When we run it, a screen opens up like it is working, displaying an place to input a value. Then the program crashes immediately with a "Segmentation Fault - core dumped". Does anyone know what the differences are with the gcc compiler and what I need to do to fix this issue? Thank you for the suggestions. I will first try compiling with the - writable-strings option and let you know. David, Thank you for your help. Adding the option to the compiler worked as advertised.
