Set it in /etc/profile if all your users (or applications to be tested)
invoke the Bourne or Korn Shell, otherwise you need to set it in
/etc/.login for C shell or tcsh, and probably /etc/bash_profile for bash.
And no, you dont need to set it before the engine bounce, oninit does not
read from it at startup, you can just set it in the environment

At the risk of sounding totally confused . . . . . <G>
I'll begin basic Y2K Informix testing early next week. I've researched
DejaNews for information. One thing still confuses me a bit.
Where do I set the DBCENTURY variable? We have a DBCENTURY-aware engine
and tools (4gl/sql). In order for all of my Informix products to be
happy, do I:
set it before an engine bounce?
Set it in /etc/profile?
Do both?
Thanks in advance!
