Re: Running programs from anothers

You need I4GL/R4GL version 4.14 or 6.02 or later versions. You need to read the release notes on "RUN cmd IN { SCREEN | FORM } MODE". Also on "REPORT TO PIPE pipecmd IN { SCREEN | FORM } MODE". The behaviour actually depends on your termcap entry too -- the initialization and re-initialization sequences control a lot of what happens. Finally, if the program you run draws on the screen, then you'll need to organize the screen redraw on return. One way of doing that is to open and close a window which is as large as the display: OPEN WINDOW w_blank AT 1, 1 WITH 24 ROWS, 80 COLUMNS CLOSE WINDOW w_blank When the window is closed, the underlying material is redrawn, and since everything is underlying that window (supposing you use a 24x80 display), everything is redrawn.
