There are a couple of ways of doing this, but if you're going to be doing it regularly, the best thing to do is to define synonyms of the remote tables in the central machine (I'm not sure of the exact syntax, but it is in the manual). You access a remote database as //machine/usr/fred/dbpath. I'm relying heavily on my memory from doing tech support a couple of years ago, but I do remember that we did do it and it did work....
