What else do u expect? Only a moron wud have believed on Apr 24 2001 that IBM will actively market Informix. Check the archives of c.d.i on that day. Skeptics were suspecting Janet Prena's statment "we will support and develop informix as long as the customer wants" right on that day. Here is an insider news. Some analyst covering IBM is after their ass that they have to "streamline their database product lines". Do you know what it means. It means kill Informix and retain only Db2. I looked at IDS 10 and was surprised that IBM has put so much effort in introducing new features, some of it really cool like online index. Why bother? I worked with Informix from 1991-2005 (SE/OE 4.0 till 9.21), but I will never recommend this for new projects now. It is a legacy database now. I still love it a lot, but I love my family more.
