Problems with ESC-Key in SQL/4GL

Sirs, on xterm and our 97801-Terminal I got problems with the ESC-key. After starting perform I can correct the first entry in a table and hit ESC for accepting. Then the menu-line appears and I can enter U for a second update. But now after ESC nothing happens. I must hit a second key and then the entry will be accepted and the second key will also be evaluated. I don't know how to change that behavior. Here is my termcap: # Termcap entry for SINIX terminals 97801,97808,ansi # used by INFORMIX / INFORMIX-4GL and CED / VI informix|97801|97808:\\ :co#80:li#24:am:bs:cm=\\E[%i%d;%dH:nd=\\E[C:up=\\E[A:\\ :ce=\\E[6K:cd=\\E[0J:cl=\\E[H\\E[2J:dl=\\E[M:al=\\E[L:sr=\\E[T:sf=\\E[S:\\ :so=\\E[7m:se=\\E[m:ti=\\E[1;24r\\E[m^O\\E)w:\\ :ic=\\E[@:dc=\\E[P:us=\\E[4m:ue=\\E[m:ta=^I:cs=\\E[%i%d;%dr:\\ :ku=\\E[A:kd=\\E[B:kr=\\E[C:kl=\\E[D:kh=\\E[H:\\ :k0=\\E@:k1=\\EA:k2=\\EB:k3=\\EC:k4=\\ED:k5=\\EF:k6=\\EG:k7=\\EH:k8=\\EI:k9=\\EJ:\\ :k;=\\EK:F1=\\EL:F2=\\EM:F3=\\EN:F4=\\EO:F5=\\EP:F6=\\E0:F7=\\E_:F8=\\Ed:F9=\\ET:\\ :y0=^NB^O:y1=^NC^O:y2=^ND^O:y3=^NE^O:y4=^NA^O:y5=^N@^O:y6=\\E[2;7m:\\ :y7=\\E[m:ya=\\012:yb=\\177:yc=\\015:yd=^R:ye=^X:yf=^H:gs=^N:ge=^O:\\ :is=\\E(B\\E)u\\E*u\\EQA17F\\E\\\\\\E[1;24r\\E[7p:\\ :gb=BDCEA@:Pl=\\Eg:Pm=\\EV:Pn=\\EX:xn:\\ :sb#0:\\ :ae=\\E[m:am:as=\\E[2m:be=\\E[m:bt=\\E[Z:\\ :ki=\\E[L:kj=\\E[M:kf=\\E[T:kg=\\E[S:\\ :kA=\\E[L:kB=\\E[Z:kb=^H:kN=\\E[T:kP=\\E[S:\\ :kZ=\\Em:\\ :ZA=\\E[%?%p1%{4}%<%t0%e%p1%{7}%<%t2%e8%;%;%?%p4%t;4%;%?%p3%t;5%;%?%p2%t;7%;m: # xterm for Sun with Informix Function keys and graphics xt|xterm|xterm (X window system):\\ :ms:bs:xn:\\ :co#80:li#24:\\ :sg#0:\\ :cl=50\\E[;H\\E[2J:\\ :cm=\\E[%i%2;%2H:nd=2\\E[C:up=2\\E[A:\\ :ce=3\\E[K:cd=50\\E[J:so=2\\E[7m:se=2\\E[m:us=2\\E[4m:ue=2\\E[m:\\ :is=\\E>\\E[?3l\\E[?4l\\E[?5l\\E[?8h:\\ :ks=\\E[?1h\\E=\\E(B\\E)0\\E[?7l:ke=\\E[?7h\\E[?1l\\E>:\\ :cs=\\E[%i%d;%dr:sf=\\ED:sr=\\EM:\\ :al=\\E[L:dl=\\E[M:\\ :kb=^H:ku=\\EOA:kd=\\EOB:kr=\\EOC:kl=\\EOD:kh=\\E[H:\\ :k0=\\E[11~:k1=\\E[12~:k2=\\E[13~:k3=\\E[14~: \\ :k4=\\E[15~:k5=\\E[17~:k6=\\E[18~:k7=\\E[19~: \\ :k8=\\E[20~:k9=\\E[21~:kA=\\E[23~:kB=\\E[24~: \\ :gs=\\E(0:ge=\\E(B:gb=lmkjqx: \\ :ZA=\\E[%?%p1%{0}%=%t0m\\E[30%e%p1%{1}%=%t1m\\E[33%e%p1%{2}%=%t35%e%p1%{3}%=%t31%e%p1%{4}%=%t36%e%p1%{5}%=%t32%e%p1%{6}%=%t34%e%p1%{7}%=%t30%;m%?%p2%t\\E[7m%;%?%p3%t\\E[6m%;%?%p4%t\\E[4m%;: The line disciplines look like: stty -a (xterm) speed 9600 baud; Zeilen = 34; Spalten = 100; ypixels = 514; xpixels = 919; eucw 1:0:0:0, scrw 1:0:0:0 intr = ^?; quit = ^|; erase = ^h; kill = ^u; eof = ^d; eol = <undef>; eol2 = <undef>; swtch = <undef>; start = <undef>; stop = <undef>; susp = ^z; dsusp = ^y; rprnt = <undef>; flush = <undef>; werase = <undef>; lnext = <undef>; parenb -parodd cs7 -cstopb hupcl cread -clocal -loblk -crtscts -parext -ignbrk brkint ignpar -parmrk -inpck istrip -inlcr -igncr icrnl -iuclc -ixon ixany -ixoff imaxbel isig icanon -xcase echo -echoe echok -echonl -noflsh -tostop -echoctl -echoprt -echoke -defecho -flusho -pendin iexten opost -olcuc onlcr -ocrnl -onocr -onlret -ofill -ofdel stty -a (97801) speed 9600 baud; Zeilen = 0; Spalten = 0; ypixels = 0; xpixels = 0; eucw 1:0:0:0, scrw 1:0:0:0 intr = ^?; quit = ^|; erase = ^h; kill = ^u; eof = ^d; eol = <undef>; eol2 = <undef>; swtch = <undef>; start = ^q; stop = ^s; susp = ^z; dsusp = ^y; rprnt = ^r; flush = ^o; werase = ^w; lnext = ^v; -parenb -parodd cs8 -cstopb hupcl cread -clocal -loblk -crtscts -parext -ignbrk brkint ignpar -parmrk -inpck -istrip -inlcr -igncr icrnl -iuclc ixon -ixany -ixoff imaxbel isig icanon -xcase echo echoe echok -echonl -noflsh -tostop echoctl -echoprt echoke -defecho -flusho -pendin iexten opost -olcuc onlcr -ocrnl -onocr -onlret -ofill -ofdel tab3 I run Informix SQL and 4gl V4.1 on SOLARIS 2.3.
