Having produced documentation for software, I'd be willing to bet that the move to the softcover manual was a cost-cutting (at the expense of quality) issue. In search of a quality document and a professional look, I opted to buy the binders and slipcases and have them pre-printed along with chapter index divider pages. I spent roughly $13.00 each for 100 to be printed. When all was said and printed, it ran about $25.00 per copy for a 1-binder manual. Clearly, the binders are a better alternative: the pages lay flat, you can use indexed divider pages, and a manual page change can easily be included where it belongs. Monetarily speaking, the cheap soft covers are the way to go. Too much said... Tim --- ~ SPEED 1.40 [NR] ~
