Error 243 - Unable to set file position

Hi, While generating a report from huge tables, I received the following error -243. Error message could be caused by a corrupted hardware etc according to the error. However onchecks does not return any significant error that could cause the earlier problem. What could cause this problem ?? Could it be a result of a row lock OR an Informix bug that could not position the file pointer if the fragment is with another table that is highly accessed. Would appreciate any help or remark.
