RE: Forms Won't Compile In Informix 3.30

I came across a similar problem about 6 years ago. We were converting an application from an AT&T 3B2 running Unix to an Olivetti running SCO Xenix. During the conversion some strange characters got introduced to the code. (ie ASCII values < 32 & > 126) I think that it was a duff cpio command that caused this corruption. Anyway, my symptoms were the same as yours. (ie all compilations stopped with no errors and no output files) Remove the corruptions and everything should be OK. :-) HTH --------------------------------------------- All opinions are my own Neil Stevenson nmsteven@eukcumbpo1.unitedkingdom.attgis.com Voice: +44 1236 851218 Fax: +44 1236 457459 --------------------------------------------- ---------- From: mjlmicro To: informix-list Subject: Forms Won't Compile In Informix 3.30 Date: 24 August 1995 21:13 I have a client running Informix 3.30. They recently moved their system from an old Altos machine running Altos Xenix to a machine running SCO Xenix. Many (but not all) of the forms (.frm) will not compile on the new system. The formbuild compiler starts out normaly (printing the '...will now be compiled' message) but then peeters out. It doesn't create an error file or report any errors it just returns to the command prompt! In some cases if I change the code It will compile. In one instance I removed a lookup parameter and it compiled but it would not compile with the lookup nor would it give me an error. In other cases I have to remove sections of code to get it to compile. If I purposely put an error into the code it will report the error and produce an error file. I can modily reports and compile them just fine and the already compiled forms run just fine on the new system. Does anyone know what to do ?????
