I have found that there is a memory bug in 5.02 (which is present in 4.10, but is supposed to be fixed in 5.02....) which causes you to leak memory when changing databases (ie close database, select new database), and then acessing data from a table that is a synonym to a third database. The memory leak in 4.10 (which occurs even if the table is not a synonym) is not too bad. You can increase the size of SHMBASE in your tbconfig to avoid a crash. In 5.02 however, we consider the leak big enough that we will not upgraded to 5.02. The bug is supposed to be fixed in 5.03, but that will not be available for 2-3months. As I understand it, the memory leak bug is not fixed at all in 5.00, and is supposed to be fixed in 5.02, but is only partially fixed. (It only leaks when you access a synonym to a table in another database.) Hope this helps a little. - Ben Kelley. -- Ben Kelley (Good Guy) - SBC Australia Ltd. Hey wow!
